PTFE Sleeved Plug Valve

Chemtrols - Samil Sleeved Plug Valves are designed to perfection and assures maintenance free service for many years. PTFE sleeved plug valves are the best choice for tight shut- off isolation services for pumps, tanks, reactors, heat exchangers and other critical equipments. In-line seal adjustment facilitates routine and emergency maintenance by minimizing costly process shutdown and spare valve inventory. The in-line tight shut-off and the positive stem seal makes Chemtrols - Samil C5 valve an ideal choice throughout the CPI for emission-free control of liquids, gases, vapors and slurries.

In-line Thru-line Seal Adjustability

Positive Stem Seal

The composite diaphragm wedges against the stem with an interference fit and serves as a secondary atmospheric seal to the primary plug / sleeve seal. This unique sealing arrangement renders the valve suitable for vacuum service.

Positive In-line Plug Adjustment

The unique design of the tapered plug allows a bubble tight, adjustable seal. The plug can be pushed deeper into the sleeve by two adjustable fasteners. The adjuster working on fulcrum principle provides positive in-line adjustment.

Line Sealing

The interference fit of the tapered plug with the PTFE sleeve serves as the sealing surface. The sleeve totally surrounds plug ports and seals the circumference of the plug, top and bottom. There are no cavities to fill up with product, and the seal area is larger than in ball valves. Sealing is both upstream and down stream.

C5 Fire Sealed

Available in Class 150 and Class 300, sizes 1/2" (15mm) through 16" (400mm), flanged, screwed and weld ends, 2-way, 3-way and 4-way.

Fire Sealed Chemtrols - Samil valves incorporate special Grafoil packing rings at the stem and Grafoil gaskets at the top cap that reduce atmospheric leakage to a negligible amount should fire destroy the PTFE sleeve and diaphragm. A metal diaphragm keeps the Grafoil packing in place even if the top seal is destroyed.
